Latrobe, PA – Apollo Design Group, a Latrobe agency that focuses on the design/creative side of the marketing/advertising equation, was recently honored with a platinum MarCom Award for its design work on and production supervision of A Unique Vision of Art, an art catalog commissioned by the Greater Latrobe School District Art Conservation Trust. In addition to Apollo Design Group’s contributions, Barbara H. Nakles authored the book and Laurel Valley Graphics (also in Latrobe) handled the printing.

A Unique Vision of Art outlines the history of the Greater Latrobe School District’s special, student-selected (and predominantly student-purchased) art collection. To maintain a museum-quality presentation and also address functionality, this revised edition of the catalog features a covered, coil binding to help the book to lay flat.

“This publication was purely a team effort between the Greater Latrobe School District, the Art Conservation Trust, the community (who helped to support and raise funds for production) and the students who take such pride in their collection,” said George Fetkovich, Art Director of Apollo Design Group. “And, it is extremely rewarding to be recognized for my work on this meaningful project.”

The MarCom Awards are a well-respected, international competition administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, an organization that is comprised of several thousand creative professionals.

This year, over 5,000 entries were submitted by various marketing departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops and production companies across the United States and in several foreign countries. From these entries, winners were selected in over 200 categories.

Platinum award winners are recognized for excellence in terms of quality, creativity and resourcefulness, and this highest honor is only bestowed to 18 percent of the entries.

Copies of A Unique Vision of Art are available at Rose Style Shoppe in Latrobe, Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Greensburg and through the Latrobe School District by contacting Jessica Golden at 724-539-4220.
